Running the door

Scan tickets, find walk-ups, and take money at the table.

4 minute read

Check-in runs in a phone browser. Anyone you add to the organization with the check-in role can work the door, and that role cannot see revenue or change the event.

Before the doors open

  1. Add your volunteers to the organization with the check-in role.
  2. Have each person sign in on their own phone and open the event check-in page before they arrive on site.
  3. Export the attendee list to CSV as a paper backup if the venue has weak signal.

At the table

  1. Scan the QR code from the guest's confirmation email. A duplicate scan tells you when that ticket was already used and by whom.
  2. No email handy? Search by name and check them in from the list.
  3. For a walk-up paying cash or check, record an offline order for the event. Capacity updates immediately, so the numbers you report to the venue stay right.

Refunded orders stop scanning. If someone canceled last week and shows up anyway, the scan will say so instead of quietly letting them in.
