Terms of service

Written to be read. How we handle personal information is in the privacy page.

Who this covers

VenuePipeline is operated by Cloud 9 Payments. Organizers use it to publish events and sell tickets. Ticket buyers use it to register for those events. These terms apply to both, and each section says which.

Organizers: your account

You are responsible for the events you publish, the prices you set, the questions you ask attendees, and the accuracy of what you tell buyers. You must have the right to sell what you list.

Keep your sign-in email secure. Anyone you invite as an owner can change payment settings and team members; anyone you invite as staff can take orders and issue refunds. Remove people who leave.

Organizers: money

Card payments are processed on your own merchant account. Ticket money settles to you from your processor under your processing agreement, not to us. We never hold ticket funds.

We do not add a per-ticket platform fee to your buyers. Where a subscription plan applies, its price is shown before you choose it.

Refunds, chargebacks, and disputes are between you, your buyer, and your processor. The refund tools here send instructions to your processor on your behalf; the processor's rules govern what can be reversed and when.

Organizers: attendee data

Attendee information belongs to you. You decide what to collect and you are responsible for handling it lawfully. We process it to deliver tickets, run check-in, and give you your attendee list, and we provide export and erasure tools so you can honour requests from your attendees.

Ticket buyers

Your purchase is with the organizer. Their event details, refund policy, and any conditions of entry apply. Contact the organizer first with questions about an event; their name is on your ticket email.

A ticket is a QR code tied to one seat. It can be scanned once. If an order is refunded or canceled, its tickets stop working.

We send your ticket to the email address you gave. Check it is correct before you pay.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to sell anything unlawful, to collect data you have no right to collect, or to interfere with other organizers' events or our systems. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service available, especially on event days, and we build it to fail safely: a payment that cannot be matched to an order is flagged for a human rather than dropped. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost ticket sales during an outage.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be announced to organizers by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
